Widely respected within the legal community, Mr. Abbes is known for his strategic insight, meticulous preparation, and unwavering commitment to those he represents.
Mr. Abbes earned his Juris Doctor from Western State College of Law and was admitted to the California Bar in 1982. His unique combination of criminal defense and immigration experience provides clients with a distinct advantage, particularly when deportation, inadmissibility, or immigration consequences arising from criminal matters are at stake.
Beyond private practice, Mr. Abbes served as a legal advisor to the Mexican Consulate on immigration and criminal law matters, helping guide and protect members of the immigrant community facing complex legal challenges. He is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) since 2009 and the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA).
Today, Mr. Abbes represents individuals and families in a wide range of immigration matters, including family petitions, deportation defense, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), U Visas, VAWA petitions, waivers, naturalization, and removal proceedings. His practice is built on thoughtful advocacy, personal attention, and a deep understanding of what is at stake for every client.
